OpenAirlines is an IT consulting company with a strong know-how in:
- The airline operations domain (Crew mgt. and OCC in particular)
- Systems integration, legacy simplification and migration
Its business is in helping airlines define and implement their future CMS or Ops information systems.
It helps them define their target system, which will usually be a combination of different vendors packages and in-house systems, with a safe and realistic migration path.
All along the project, it provides the experience, method, tools and development resources to bring it successfully to live production.

Provide a complete solution to airlines by bridging the gap between vendors or constructors and airlines
Our goal is to help airlines as well as industry vendors to get together and implement complete and reliable solutions. That is, solutions that bring the benefits of the innovations of the vendors and constructors, and yet provide the custom nitty-gritty functions, integration with in-house systems, and above all, a smooth and safe migration path that their critical operations require.
Promote open standards, open tools and encourage sharing between airlines
Since our vision is airline focused, we work hard on promoting open standards and providing open tools that insure that the airlines retain the control of their information system.
Because the history of our industry is one of cooperation in the operational domain, we believe that it makes sense for airlines to share best practices and mutualize IT solutions in order to reduce costs and improve operations. For that matter, we are animating an open-source initiative to make the best out of existing airline solutions.
Facilitate alliances and mergers
With our experience on the topic, with our focus on open solutions, and by closely sorting out what is common from what is specific (yet still working on the specifics), we facilitate alliances and mergers and make sure that they yield the cost benefits that are expected.
The open-source initiative is a concrete and pro-active step to build this vision, and in particular its part on promoting open standards, open tools and airlines cooperation.
By promoting open specification for data and service integration, and open-source tools to leverage them, we intend to level down the integration cost of vendors solution and the migration cost of legacy systems.
